Coaching Philosophy:

“Striking is more than being able to hit a pad or a bag and have there be a loud sound. You need to make sure that you are not there to be hit after, that you are always balanced and ‘in-position’.”

When I Coach, I like to make sure that my students build themselves from the ground up. This means that we work together to be comfortable and balanced on our feet while understanding how to transfer our weight to the target. I hope that through working together that you will be able to see your full potential inside the gym and eventually carry that over to other aspects of life outside of the gym.

Jeremy MG has been training in the Martial Arts for most of his life. He began with Judo and Karate and knew that he would stick with Martial Arts for the rest of his life. When he started High School he wanted to challenge himself and pursue other combat arts. He then started Training in No-Gi Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu under Canadian Black Belt Misha Cirkunov. Shortly after this, he also began training in MMA, Grappling, Muay Thai, Kickboxing & Boxing. After a year of training, he began competing across Ontario under various disciplines, which led to him understanding what is needed of an athlete both inside and outside the ring, physically and mentally. Outside of the gym, Jeremy volunteers weekly with Youth providing them mentorship and coaching for life through a boxing-based program. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Canadian Armed Forces being an Infantry Soldier Reservist; his home unit is the Queens Own Rifles of Canada. Jeremy has completed his Bachlors of Honours in Criminology at York University and is currently studying to earn his ISSA Personal Trainer Certification.

Favourite Pre-Workout Fuel:

I prefer to do my Workouts in a Fasted state occasionally having some Pink Himalayan Salt + Water for extra electrolytes.
If I have a busy day ahead of me with multiple workouts scheduled, Oatmeal with Fruits, Nuts, and Honey gives me the energy I need.

Favourite Post-Workout Fuel:
A nice Home-Cooked Meal

Favourite Rest Day Fuel:
No rest days, there is always something that you can do to be better than you were yesterday.

Client Testimonials:

Coach Jeremy,

I have always wanted to learn how to box. Over the last couple of years my mental health got so bad that I said ENOUGH is ENOUGH! I joined West End Athletic Club with my two adult children on the autism spectrum. We were matched with Jeremy. I must emphasize the word matched because Jeremy is the perfect match for us! He is everything a great trainer/coach should be: He teaches to our strengths, listens to our needs (because we all have unique needs) encourages us to be better and praises us when we have grasped a new move, and worked hard! He is precise and enthusiastic with his instruction and takes the time with each of us to make sure we are understanding the moves and techniques. He is serious about his profession and makes our training sessions fun. Great combination for any great coach! Thank you so much for making my mental health better and making the lives of me and my children better with your vast knowledge of nutrition and physical fitness!

From my son – Jeremy always inspires me to push beyond my limits but also knows what my limits are.

From my daughter – Jeremy is a great coach, and he allows me to go at my own pace.
