Coaching Philosophy:
“Boxing is a symbol of life. How far are you willing to push yourself? How bad do you want it? If you can get through the battles of boxing, you can get through anything in life.”
I want every member who works with me to be able to apply the values that I teach in the boxing gym to their everyday life. Boxing has taught me so much about myself and the world, especially about getting out of it what you put into it. After training with me, I hope you can take the same lesson home.
Biography:
Tommy was originally born and raised in Hungary. That is until life took its turn and he and his family migrated to Canada at the age of 9. Just a few months later boxing was introduced into his life.
After discovering boxing through his uncle, Tommy immediately fell in love with it. He started competing at the age of 11, fighting his first ever bout in the Brampton Cup.
“When I first started boxing, I was very young, scared, and antisocial. Boxing helped me throughout my life as I was growing up and developing. It helped me create the very core values I hold to this day. Through great coaching, I was always told every lesson I learn can be applied anywhere else in my life. It taught me that nothing in life is easy. It taught me that it takes grit, determination, and dedication to get the results you desire in anything. It gave me confidence and purpose. No matter what happens, I’ll carry the lessons I learned and the blood, sweat, and tears I’ve shed with me forever. The greatest obstacle in any challenge is yourself. Your toughest opponent is yourself.”
“One of the greatest boxing lessons I had learned from my coaches is summed up by a quote I heard almost every session; “He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight” – The Art of War, Sun Tzu. You dictate the pace, you control the fight. The most important thing in boxing is not talent or skill, it’s your mentality.
