FITNESS BOXING
A class that allows you to learn the fundamentals of boxing and combine it with a high-intensity workout. Where cardio meets strength, and you have the chance to push yourself to your fitness limits. Improve your cardio, endurance, core conditioning, and hand-eye coordination while learning and improving boxing techniques.
TECHNICAL BOXING
This class allows you to take an in-depth look at boxing and proper techniques. Specialized drills are utilized throughout the class to challenge and grow your boxing knowledge. Suitable for all fitness levels, depending on the intensity that you choose.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING
Coached by Miguel Valdez, strength and conditioning classes are 50-minute sessions that include resistance training, plyometrics, ballistics, conditioning equipment, core training, and more. High-intensity interval circuits allow you to work hard and push yourself to reach your fitness goals.
MIXED MARTIAL ARTS
Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA for short, is a combat sport that combines techniques from various martial arts to form a universal, well-rounded discipline. In the MMA class, you learn a mix of basic striking, kicking, wrestling and grappling. Exercises throughout the class include bodyweight, partnered bodyweight and various forms of sport-specific strength and conditioning techniques to optimize the best workout.
MUAY THAI
Muay Thai, a sport originating in Thailand, combines standing striking techniques with clinch throws, sweeps, and off-balancing moves. In the Muay Thai class, you work on and combine punches, kicks, knees, and elbows. The classes combine partner drills utilizing Muay Thai pads, low kick shields, and various heavy bags while incorporating sport-specific strength and conditioning exercises.
TECH SPARRING
Tech Sparring is an invite-only class focusing on ring IQ, defence and fighting scenarios that would occur in a professional bout. Members participate in sparring drills in a controlled setting that allows one another to test their skills. These classes’ goals are never to hurt one another but to grow alongside each other. West End Athletic Club also gives amateur fighters the opportunity to showcase their skills and hard work at our own in-house amateur boxing Ontario-sanctioned bout.
OPEN GYM
During an Open Gym session you will have access to our high-performance training space equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and strength equipment, plus our boxing equipment (heavy bags, speed bags, uppercut and wrecking balls).
